EE-JAY OFFERS THE LARGEST BULK TRANSFER FACILITIES IN THE CENTRAL MIDWEST REGION EQUIPMENT Ee-Jay operates a modern and diversified fleet of tractors and trailers suited primarily for the transportation of plastic pellets and powders but also designed to transport a variety of liquid petroleum products including gasoline, diesel, lubricating oil and liquid asphalts. Ee-Jay's substantial fleet of large cube dry bulk aluminum pneumatic self loading trailers are dedicated to plastic service. All valves and fittings are stainless steel/aluminum, all gaskets are sanitary white and trailers are equipped with inline filters and stainless steel hoses to insure product purity. Tractor and trailer exteriors are cleaned regularly and trailer interiors, hoses, discharge line, etc, are washed with hot water and cleaned as required. Because of the highly contamination prone nature of the material terminated, virtually all trailers are dedicated to a specific material. Tractors are equipped with PTO-driven blowers and pumps. Blowers provide air for delivery of food grade material and are equipped with a filter on each side of the blower. These blower filters are regularly inspected, cleaned or replaced. Additionally trailers are equipped with heat exchangers to provide exact unloading air temperatures depending upon the product that is handled. Ability to efficiently access leased facilitates from the Union Pacific Railroad and Minnesota Commercial Railway Company. Ee-Jay makes more than 200 jumbo rail car spots available to its customers.
LIQUID BULK Capabilities include, but are not limited to: Liquid Asphalt, Lubricating Oil, Liquid Sugar, Liquid Petroleum, Gasoline, and Diesel.
INTERPLANT TRANSFERS Ee-Jay’s experienced staff is regularly utilized by end-users of plastic resin to provide interplant transfers of resins.
LOAD ADJUSTMENT We regularly provide load adjust services for our shipper customers by either transferring material from one compartment of an en route railcar to another or by removing the material and relocating it to another of the shippers railcars which will frequently be located at our terminal.
SILO EVACUATION In plant silo evacuations of plastic pellets and powders are also provided on a regular basis to customers in need of silo cleaning of an off spec or contaminated material or simply to relocate inventory to another of the customer's plants in a different part of the country. The latter will occur when some circumstance occurs (e.g. Hurricane Katrina) that causes a production interruption or inventory imbalance.
VAN TRAILERS 53' and 48' van trailers available for the hauling of packaged commodities. They also support the movement of Gaylord Boxes into and out of our onsite warehouse.
DRY BULK Capabilities include, but are not limited to: Plastic Pellets & Powders, Flour, Sand and Sugar.
RESIN DRYING In the event of water being introduced to plastic resin via a flood or leak Ee-Jay is able to use Pneumatic Self-Loading Trailers to dry out a railcar or silo.
SALVAGE Because of its long history and ongoing relationships with virtually all plastic pellet and powder petrochemical producers, including the largest and most significant plastic brokers and resellers, Ee-Jay is uniquely positioned to provide “one stop shopping” in the matter of rail wreck clean up and salvage services. These services have been provided in the past for a variety of railroads and shippers and have occasioned creative and innovative solutions to railcar accidents as unique as derails of cars coming to rest hanging over the side of rail bridges over the Mississippi river. Ee-Jay is qualified and is a registered provider of salvage services to the Union Pacific Railroad and BNSF Railway Company and holds itself out to any party in need of liquid or dry bulk salvage. The National Transportation Safety Board, various state and local Departments of Public Safety, state Departments of Transportation and state Pollution Control Agencies are some of the governmental entities Ee-Jay has worked with in the course of salvage operations. Ee-Jay has an acute awareness and understanding of the environmental concerns that surround such accidents. We are regularly qualified and updated by our producer and reseller customers alike in the “best practices” that attach to plastic handling, spill remediation, pellet capture and disposition.
WAREHOUSING & PACKAGING An onsite warehousing and packaging facility at our St. Louis / East St. Louis bulk distribution terminal allows Ee-Jay to offer services including: storage and transferring to/from Bulk Trucks, Railcars and Gaylord Boxes.
